Foam in Place

Total Foam
Protect your products from Shock and Vibration during Shipping

Tired of merchandise breakage and damage due to improper shipping?

The answer is TOTAL FOAM, a complete package protection system

Total Foam is the ultimate way to package delicate items such as glass, aircraft parts, central processing units and more. Stop wrapping, stuffing, placing special corrugated inserts or double boxing.

Automated mixing and cleaning functions and ergonomic design improvements elevate Total Foam packaging systems to new level of foaming efficiency.

This high quality polyurethane foam cushion protects your products from shock and vibration during shipping and handling. Furthermore, due to the complete void fill, TOTALFOAM improves the integrity and stacking strength of the corrugated container. Plus, it is bio-stable, photo-degradable and safe for incineration or landfill disposal.

Here is how TOTALFOAM works:

Foam in Place Step 1 Foam in Place Step 2 Foam in Place Step 3 Foam in Place Step 4

  • "Wet" the bottom of the box with foam; this will give you 2 1/2" to 3" of foam.
  • Place a piece of polyethylene film over the rising foam and set the product onto the film, thus forming a nest in the foam.
  • Place another piece of film over the product and drape it up the sides of the box. Pour foam onto the film and use box flaps to control the rising foam.
  • Add additional foam if necessary, close box, tape and ship.

The foam never touches the product, which literally will not move inside the container.

Product Protection and Cushioning

Most products can be protected from normal shipping mishaps and mishandling with between 2 and 3 inches of foam on all sides.

If your product is very light (with a density loading of less than 0.1 lb per square inch), a "form void" should be used to work the foam. Foam the corners and edges, leaving the center area void of foam.

If your product is very dense, with a loading over 0.8 lbs per square inch, then you should use more than 3 inches of foam around the product.

Environmental Issues

Polyurethane foam is one of the few plastics that can be incinerated without giving off any toxic or noxious fumes. Polyurethane is bio-stable; meaning that it will not be pollutant in landfills when buried. It is photo degradable, meaning that if exposed to sunlight polyurethane will break down into inert particulates.

System 360The 360 is a high volume foam packaging unit that can pump directly from drums and utilizes a peristaltic pumping approach to guarantee perfect foam for every package. And like the Basic 100 System:

  • Sells for a fraction of the cost of standard foam-in-place systems.
  • Is quiet and portable.
  • Works in tandem with the hand held foam dispenser.
  • Needs no compressor or drum pumps, operates on 110 volt power.
  • Optional Portcart available.
